Control System Design

Concerning my undergraduate final project, I am to design a controller. First things first, let me share you a little bit of what I’ve learned about the process and methods for designing a control system. This post also serves as a parameter for my progress documentation of the project.

The process of designing a control system usually makes many demands of the engineer or engineering team. These demands often emerge in step by step design procedure as follows:

1. Study the system (plant) to be controlled and obtain initial information about the control objectives.
2. Model the system and simplify the model, if necessary.
3. Analyze the resulting model; determine its properties.

Well, named it so mainly because this is the first post I made in 2009. Hopefully this will be the first among any other post(s) that will follow next time.

The year 2009 started with a hellish January for me. Some of you might know that I was the head of 2009 ITB power engineering excursion committe, I am eternally grateful for all of the participation given by various parties as to make this event held successfully. Thank you.

The event was fun, educative, and most of all memorable. Some of friends are to graduate next July, there’s a possibility that we wont be meeting each others for a while and maybe for a long time, so the excursion event was also purposedly intended for our last time “going out and hanging out” together as college students. Good luck guys, my prayers are with you.

Untuk semua yang punya YM Saya, pasti sering ngeliat judul diatas sebagai status Saya.. biasanya ada tambahan juga “au revoir la France”..

yah mungkin redaksinya agak berbeda, yang jadi permasalahan adalah:

Is “dreaming” considered to be a childish thing?

Baru beberapa saat yang lalu temen Saya berinisial R bilang, jangan kebanyakan mimpi, yang real aja, lo dah gede.

So, does growing up mean giving away your dreams?

Hell Freezes Over.. (a story of one morning in Bandung)

Well, it is 7 o’clock in the morning.. I just got back from campus, after spending a night there doing some research. And I tell you about the journey home.. Dang! It was agonizingly cold! the temperature dropped below 20 C (I guess :P), and in equatorial country such as Indonesia, it IS considered to be cold.

How come? It is none other than because the rain was constantly pouring down all over the night, beginning at about 8pm last night, then it just steadily got heavier until when I got up at about 6am the rain was already over, leaving trails of soil scent and the cold breeze seeping through the window.

Harapan dan Impian, Doa

Barusan habis ngobrol dengan teman-teman seperjuangan Air Mata Ibu Pertiwi, ya intinya mengenai rencana di masa depan gitu, tapi kita jadinya justru banyakan nyinggung masa lalu, semacem learn from the past, hehe. Kebanyakan dari kita punya masa lalu yang mirip. Contoh yang dialami oleh Saya adalah sewaktu di SMP, kelas 1 dan 2 masih tidak maksimal, santai lah pokonya, tapi untungnya kelas 3 kesadaran muncul, barulah saya terpacu untuk belajar giat agar bisa masuk ke SMA favorit. Dan di SMA favorit Saya yang katanya “gaul” ini, Saya tetap saja tidak gaul.. apa yang salah ya.. eh, maaf, hehe jadi ngelantur gini. Nah di SMA ini kelas 1 dan 2 benar-benar merupakan masa keemasan dalam kebandelan Saya, apalagi sewaktu kelas 2. Bebas dari kekangan senior yang telah lulus, dan belum dihantui oleh tanggung jawab menjalani ujian agar dapat diterima di PTN impian. Tapi untungnya, kesadaran benar-benar mencapai taraf klimaks di saat yang tepat. Tekanan dari berbagai pihak disaat kelas 3 memaksa Saya untuk benar-benar belajar dengan tekun dan sungguh-sungguh, dengan disertai doa dan tingkat ibadah yang komprehensif. Baik dari orang tua, diri sendiri, keluarga besar di kampung, maupun gebetan (ups..) semua mengharapkan masa depan Saya yang lebih baik, haha. Dan alhamdulillah sampailah Saya di kampus ini.

Merasa yang paling jago se-Indonesia, membuat Saya takabur, hilang arah dan tujuan. Serasa segala macam harapan dan impian telah tercapai, doa pun jadi kendor.. naudzubillah.. Yang pada akhirnya membuat menyesal sekarang. Berbeda dengan pada waktu sekolah dulu, kesadaran selalu datang di akhir, namun di masa kuliah ini, tidak ada yang namanya akhir kecuali kita
